Research Center of Biomass Gasification and Liquidation Engineering of Nanjing Forestry University is specialized in research and development of technologies for gasification of agriculture and forestry biomass. The research area include the performance of biomass materials, biomass gasification process, key equipments in the process of the gasification, and the chemical composition of the various products, application way and engineering product development. The center now has 12 full-time researchers, including 1 academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 1 professor, 3 assistant researcher/PhD and 7 engineers. The center has comprehensive science-production cooperation with Hefei Debo Bioenergy Co., Ltd. Our center is qualified for various test and engineering experiment for basic and practical research on biomass. We have undertaken 5 national research projects and 12 provincial projects, obtained 15 national invention patents, and obtained 15 national invention patents, and trained 30 masters/doctors.

The research center first put forward the concept of biomass gasification polygeneration both at home and abroad in 2002. After more than ten years of hard work, it has developed various gasifiers applicable to different materials successfully, perfected the gasification polygeneration technology, and settled a series of technical difficulties including environmental pollution, non-remarkable economic benefits, and so on. The 500kW gasification power generation and polygeneration projects that use wood chips and rice husks as the raw materials have been established and operated stably in Anhui, Hunan, Zhejiang for several years, and fine economic and social benefits have been achieved. Currently, several 5MW biomass gasification power generation and polygeneration projects are being prepared.
